Waipu Cave

Exploring Waipu Cave

It’s wet, it’s muddy and there are no guided tours, but if you’re up for adventure and keen to see a glowworm galaxy, Waipu Cave is just the place for you.

Great Barrier Island

Diving Great Barrier Island

Situated on the outer edge of the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park, Great Barrier Island is a mecca for divers, offering dive sites suitable for all skill levels.

Raglan Pancake Rocks

Raglan Pancake Rocks

If you enjoy paddling, either kayak or standup paddleboard, the pancake rock formations in Raglan Harbour offer a rather interesting and unique experience.

Wairere Falls

Wairere Falls

If you’re driving along Highway 27 just north of Matamata, a detour to see the North Island’s highest waterfall is well worth it but you better like stairs, and lots of them.

Owharoa Falls

Owharoa Falls

While not exactly a must-do, this waterfall with its moss covered steps makes for some pretty photos. It’s also a great picnic/swimming spot on a hot day.
